With this release, we are pleased to announce that we have added Extended High Frequency (EHF) to both the Standard and Professional versions of SHOEBOX Audiometry. We have also added an option to view automated test results in a tabular view. Additional usability and feature enhancements have been added to SHOEBOX Data Management.
EXTENDED HIGH FREQUENCY: For those who perform ototoxicity monitoring, we have now added the ability to test at 10 kHz, 12.5 kHz, and 16 kHz. These additional frequencies have been added to both SHOEBOX Audiometry Standard and Professional Editions. This means that EHF testing can be performed in an automated mode, enabling testers other than Audiologists or specialized physicians to monitor the test.
Extended High Frequencies are available under special license. If you are a current user of SHOEBOX Audiometry and are interested in adding this capability, please contact us at info@shoebox.md for more information and instructions regarding the recalibration of your transducers.
TABULAR VIEW OF EHF TEST RESULTS: The results of any test performed using EHF will be displayed in this tabular view. For tests performed using regular frequencies, you have the option to display results as either a standard audiogram or in this tabular mode.
Results PDF’s that are uploaded to SHOEBOX Data Management will be saved based on the display configuration used to perform the test.
USABILITY ENHANCEMENTS TO SHOEBOX DATA MANAGEMENT: We have made a few updates to SHOEBOX Data Management which will make it easier for you to navigate the system. All users are now able to view the Projects that they are a part of, and a user who creates a Project is automatically added to that Project. The Patient screen displays patient demographics and grid-view audiogram summaries. Contact us if you have more questions about changes made to SHOEBOX Data Management.
Please be sure that you are running the most current version of SHOEBOX Audiometry. Start by opening the application on your iPad and tapping Settings, then About in the top left corner. If you are not running version 4.5, simply click the App Store icon on your iPad and then choose SHOEBOX Audiometry. As a reminder, you will need to have a WiFi connection to update your software.
