On the iPad: from the SHOEBOX main screen select the ℹ icon next to the patient you would like to edit. Complete your changes to the patient details form and click Save
In the SHOEBOX Data Management web portal: select All Patients on the left then select the patient by clicking their name. On the patient details page, click the pencil icon on the top right to edit. Click Save when you are finished.

An Apple ID is required to set up the iPad and for use with any application on the iPad, include SHOEBOX Audiometry. We strongly recommend that company owned and/or shared iPads be logged in using a separate Apple ID from your personal account to avoid issues surrounding data privacy and password issues.
Yes, you can use the same username and password to log into different instances of SHOEBOX on multiple iPads. Please note that each of these logins will use an available license space and all data will be merged in the SHOEBOX Data Management web portal under one user. If you would like to keep data on different iPads separate please speak with our Customer Care and Support team to understand your options,
Yes, you can use the same username and password to log into different versions of SHOEBOX Audiometry on the same iPad or different iPads. All of your data will be accessible under that username and password on the SHOEBOX Data Management web portal.
It is possible that your transducers have not yet been installed on your system. From the SHOEBOX main screen select Settings > Transducers. Look for the alphanumeric code printed on the white tag near the end of your transducer cable. If the transducers are listed under Inactive, use the "..." option and select Active Transducers. If the transducer alphanumeric code is not listed, select the cloud icon in the top right corner of the Transducers screen. Select the code for the transducer you would like to install and select Confirm. If you do not see the code that corresponds to your transducer please contact our Customer Care and Support team.

We recommend calibration of your transducers yearly to comply with common regulatory guidelines. after 12 months, your transducers will display a symbol indicating that we recommend recalibration be completed.
We recommend checking your transducers prior to each testing day. from the main screen select Settings > Transducers. Place the headphones on yourself and press the L speaker option beside the transducer name. While the tone is playing check the connection of the transducer to the iPad and adaptor cable if used. If no loss of sound, static, or other issues are detected select OK and repeat the process for the right ear. If you detect an issue with your transducer please first clean the plugs with alcohol or the included screen wipe and repeat the check. If the same issue persists please contact our Customer Care and Support team.
The bone transducer supplied with your kit is designed to be plugged into the provide adaptor cable. ShOEBOX Pro will display graphics in the software to direct you on how to arrange the headphone and bone transducer plugs for masked and unmasked bone testing. Please refer to the graphics on screen and the user manual for more information.
Beginning on the main screen, select a patient from the list on the left-hand side, or add a patient using the Add Patient option on the bottom left of the main screen. Select the Automated Pure Tone Test button. Use the setup wizard to customize the test options. Please see the user guide for more information on customizing your test types as well as establishing the Comfortable Listening Level.
At the top of the screen of the automated test, there are 2 buttons. Using one hand press and hold the button on the left side labeled “Slide and Hold” and, while holding down the button, slide it downwards. Without lifting your finger from the “Slide and Hold” button, select the white “X” button that has appeared on the right side of the screen. If you have a passcode enabled you will be asked to enter it before proceeding to the audiogram results screen.
When you begin an automated test you will be taken to the test setup wizard. Within the Test Type section select Change followed by selecting your test type from the list of available test types. If you do not see the test type listed that you are looking for, use the Back button to return to the main page, then choose Settings on the upper left. Select Automated Test Types and ensure that the test you are looking for is listed in the Active section. Push and hold on a test type name and drag it between the Inactive and Active sections as required.
From the main page choose Settings on the upper left. Select Automated Test Types to view a list of Active and Inactive test types. Press and hold on a test name to move between Active and Inactive sections.To add additional test types, use the “+” button on the upper right. To edit a test type select the test type name. Use the options on the test information page to customize the test to your needs. Additional information on test customization can be found in the user manual.
From the main page, select Settings > Speech Test. Use the toggles beside each word list to download or turn off each word list. Press and hold the name of a word list to see a preview of the words that will be presented. Note: internet access is required to download word lists.
The speech test defaults to 10 words per test. To test the entire list, select the Use All Words option at the top of the test screen. To test a different number of words, press and hold the blue arrow until it begins to wiggle. While holding it down, drag to below the number of words that you would like to test. Let go of the arrow when you have selected the correct number of words.
A red circle with a number or an ! indicates there is an issue uploading your results to the SHOEBOX Data Management web portal. Please ensure that you are connected to the internet via WiFi or 3G service. From the main page of SHOEBOX select Settings > Profile > Logout.
